Sweet Marjoram ( marjorana hortensis)

Distilled from the leaves of the Sweet Marjoram plant.

Native to Africa. Planted in graveyards to help the departed rest in peace. It was given to newly weds to bring them goood luck.

Constituents:Monoterpenes 40%, Monoterpenols 50%Esters 5% Aldehydes 5%

One of my favourite oils. I liken it's aroma and the effect it has on me, to having a big warm hug.

It is a very comforting oil. Its aroma is soft and sweet with a slightly herby smell. 

It has relaxing and calming properties easing anxiety,muscles spasms,colic,migraines.

I include marjoram in Good Nights Sleep massage oil and Tension Headache Roll on. It is also in Booster from my Perfumes with Purpose range.

As a warming oil it is useful during winter months especially combined with eucalyptus to help relieve congestion of chesty colds as it acts as an expectorant.

It is included in our Winter Blend  to warm you up during those cold dark winter months.
